Ms. Angela Chen, EDC HHD Regional Director
Angela Chen has served as EDC HHD Regional Director in Asia since 2003. She has developed and led multi-sector projects across Asia in the areas of health promotion, HIV/AIDS prevention, and entrepreneurship education. Ms. Chen has in-depth experience in program design, training, and strategic planning for CSOs, and she has consulted to multinational corporations on CSR programming. Before joining EDC, Ms. Chen was at the World Bank, working extensively on education projects in the East Asia region. She has also worked for the United Nations Development Program as an economic analyst, and for Citibank in Taiwan. Ms. Chen holds a Masters of International Affairs, Economic Policy Management from Columbia University.
Ms. Yupaporn Boontid, Deputy Director
Yupaporn Boontid is a Thai national who oversees the portfolio of Thailand projects, as well as EDC HHD Asia'a role as the Center of Excellence for the HP Learning Initiative for Entrepreneurs in the Asia-Pacific region. She has more than 25 years of experience in community development with local and international CSOs. Micro-finance is her specialty: she has comprehensive field experience in Thailand with the Village Banking Program of Catholic Relief Services and the Social Support Project of the European Union as well as the Microfinance Project of UNDP in Lao PDR. Ms. Boontid holds a Masters in Environmental Development and Management from the Australian National University.
Ms. Krittiya Arthivitawas, Finance Manager
Krittiya Arthivitawas is a Thai national who provides financial oversight to all projects. She develops budgets for proposals, assists in the financial planning and tracking of project budgets, and manages all contracts and grants. She is skilled in finance, accounting, budgeting and auditing. She is also responsible for all HR and administrative matters. Krittiya has previously worked with a number of international private sector firms, including those in trading, auditing and financial consulting. She holds a Bachelors degree in Accounting from Chulalongkorn University and a MBA from Thammasat University.
Mr. Piyamit Chomprasob, Program Manager
Piyamit (Bing) Chomprasob oversees the implementation of the HP Learning Initiative for Entrepreneurs Program in the Asia-Pacific region, particularly in China. His responsibilities include overall project and grants management, program monitoring, research and proposal development. Prior to joining EDC, Piyamit worked at Relief International in Los Angeles, CA. He is proficient in Thai and Chinese and holds a Masters degree from the London School of Economics in Urbanisation and Development.
Ms. Wanchi Tang, Project Assistant
Wanchi Tang provides program, project and grants management, research, and business development support to the project team. Prior to joining EDC, she worked mainly in the areas of human rights and legal research. During her studies, she focused particularly on issues of education and international development. Wanchi holds a LL.B. and LL.M. in Law from Maastricht University in the Netherlands and a M.Sc. in Human Rights from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Mr. Atiphan Asavaphanlert, Administrative Assistant
Atiphan (Mai) Asavaphanlert is a Thai national who provides administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the office, including financial management assistance. Atiphan has previously worked as an Administratiev Assistant at Population Services International (PSI). He holds a Bachelors degree in Statistics from Srinakharinwirot University.
Ms. Panqiu Lin, Consultant
Panqiu (Elisa) Lin assists with HP Learning Initiative for Entrepreneurs Program in China by helping with grants management, PR and Communications, program monitoring, research and proposal development, translation and interpretation. Prior to joining EDC, Lin worked at PRISM-run Ford Content Factory as Chinese writer. Lin holds a Bachelor degree from the East China Normal University in Chinese Studies for International Purpose.

Dr. Carmen Aldinger, Associate Center Director, EDC HHD Global Programs
Carmen Aldinger has 15 years experience in the field of health promotion through schools, particularly in an international context. For several years, she has provided technical assistance and conducted qualitative evaluation of health-promoting schools in China. Dr. Aldinger has been part of teams that developed materials such as assessments for school health capacity, curricula and policy tools, and advocacy tools, and she has led the development of online courses for health professionals. She has also written major school health papers for U.N. agencies that synthesize research and provide guidance for policy and implementation for an international audience and recently edited a book with case studies in global school health promotion. Dr. Aldinger has a Ph.D. in Educational Studies from Lesley University, a Master of Public Health from Yale University, and a Bachelor of Science in health education from Towson University.
Mr. James B. Vetter, Project Director
James Vetter has over 20 years of experience in prevention science with a specialty in designing and conducting trainings in group facilitation skills. Mr. Vetter’s current projects include fostering the development of peer support groups for recovering heroin addicts across Vietnam and supporting behavioral health promotion initiatives in communities throughout the United States. Before joining EDC, Mr. Vetter directed training and consultation activities for a social and emotional learning program, directed statewide suicide prevention and youth violence prevention programs, and served as an independent trainer and consultant for local, national, and international clients. He has written chapters and articles on developing effective strategic planning teams to support social and emotional learning and on the links between interpersonal violence and suicide. Mr. Vetter holds a Master of Education from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Arts from Yale University.
